Design a logic circuit that will control the horn








A manufacturing plant needs to have a horn sound to signal quitting time. The horn should be activated when either of the following conditions is met:
1. It's after 5 o'clock and all machines are shut down
2. It's Friday, the production run for the day is complete, and all machines are shut down.
Design a logic circuit that will control the horn. (Hint: Use four logic input variables to represent the various conditions; for example , input A will be HIGH only when the time of day is 5 o'clock or later.)









A =  after 5 o'clock
B =  all machines are shut down  it is Friday
C =  production  is complete
D =  all machines are shut down


























X  = A/BCD + ABC/D/ + ABC/D + ABCD

   Answer :
         = C (AB +A\)
         = C (A\+B)
         = A\C+BC

b) Y = (Q + R) (Q\+R\)
   Answer :      
         = QQ\ + QR\ + Q\R + RR\
         = QR\ + Q\R

c) W = ABC + AB\C + A\
   Answer :       
          = AC (B + B\) + A\
          = AC + A\

d) Q = R\S\T\ (R+S+T)\
   Answer :
        = (RST)\ (R+S+T)\
        = (RST)\+(RST)\+(RST)\
        = (RST)\

e) X = A\B\C\ + A\BC + ABC + AB\C\ + AB\C
   Answer :
        = A\B\C\ + AB\C\ + A\BC + ABC + AB\C
        = B\C\ (A\+A) + BC (A\+A) + AB\C
        = B\C\ + BC +AB\C
        = B\C\ + C (B + AB\)
        = B\C\ + C (B + A)
        = B\C\ + BC + AC
        
f) Z = (B+C\) (B\+C) A\\+B\+C\\
   Answer :
       = BB\ + BC + B\C\ + C\C + AB\C
       = BC + B\C\ + AB\C
       = BC + B\ (C\+AC)
       = BC + B\ (C\+A)
       = BC + B\C\ + AB\

g) Y = (C+D)\ + A\CD\ + AB\C\ + A\B\CD + ACD\
   Answer :
        = C\D\ + A\CD\ + ACD\ + AB\C\ + A\B\CD
        = C\D\ + CD\ (A\ + A) + AB\C\ + A\B\CD
